What is Counselling?

Counselling is a confidential helping activity whereby through the use of active listening you  are empowered to help yourself, face your issues and develop strategies for coping with them.

Who can access Counselling?

The short answer, is anyone and everyone.  We currently take clients from any age or  gender, or indeed any background at all.

What type of Counselling do we offer?

Currently we offer a mixture of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Person Centred Therapy, as well as some Psychodynamic and Gestalt Therapies.

Is there an initial assessment?

Yes, all of our clients are fully assessed before counselling commences.  This is to make sure that counselling is the right choice for you and also to ensure that your therapeutic journey with us is as safe and effective as it can be.  The initial assessment is done as part of the first appointment and usually consists of paperwork and you getting to know your therapist.

How do I access counselling?

The process is very simple, you can talk to a member of staff, phone us, or complete the referral form on our website.

Is there a cost?

Yes – although it is very, very small, we will discuss this with you prior to any chargeable services being provided.
