Dementia Action Week is an opportunity to put dementia first and get everyone across the UK taking action to create a more dementia friendly society. It is celebrated as a national week from Monday 20 – Sunday 26 May, one of the events this year will be:

Everyone is welcome to come along and see information displays from Alzheimer’s Society, Darlington ARQ, as well as Healthwatch, Darlington Carers Support and Age UK; and other local organisations
Over a third of people with dementia who we spoke to as part of our Turning Up the Volume report said they have felt lonely recently and over a third have lost touch with their friends following a diagnosis. That’s why this Dementia Action Week, we will be urging everyone to unite with us and take action under the theme of inclusion- so people living with dementia can stay connected to the things they love for longer.
