The Boot & Shoe, Darlington has become the latest organisation to go through the LGBT+ Champions Awareness Education offered by Darlington ARQ. The Manager and staff have successfully completed their awareness training and have undergone the evidence based assessment in order to demonstrate that they meet the requirements of the scheme. They now hold the award certificate (above) which they proudly display in their bar.
Chris Metters, the Manager of the Boot and Shoe was quoted as saying “This was a very rewarding scheme and we thoroughly enjoyed the process. We feel it is important to invest in the development of our staff team and also, by doing so, benefit all the people in Darlington. We are very pleased to say that we are playing our own part in developing the LGBT+ inclusivity of Darlington”.
Darlington ARQ added “It was a pleasure to roll-out this essential scheme with the Boot & Shoe and they are the first public house in Darlington to do this! It is very encouraging to see a local pub setting the trail for others to follow in terms of LGBT+ inclusivity”.
A very well earned well done to Chris, the Manager and all of the staff!
